How To Boost Phone Performance for PUBG? 5 Best Ways to Improve Your Game? |
Section 1: Clean up your system
Now that we have all of our necessary programs installed, our Android phone is in pretty good shape. However, we need to make sure that we clean up the junk left behind by applications that have been downloaded but never used. Nowadays, it’s very hard to get rid of unused or outdated applications, so there’s really no point of keeping them around.
I recommend that you uninstall all of your old apps on your Android smartphone before we move on to the next section.
Step 1: Power off your device
Hold down the power button on your smartphone for 10 seconds and then press the volume up button. Continue holding until you see a blue ‘x’ appear on the screen. Now, release the power button and let your device stay off for another 10 seconds. Now, wait for the Android OS to turn back on.

Free up memory
Our smartphones come packed with so many features, there’s little room left to store unnecessary apps and files. It may seem counterintuitive to delete anything related to work, but it’s really the best way to ensure your phone doesn’t slow down as it gets older.
Go for flash memory if you don’t want to spend money on more internal storage. Also, try to use the phone for longer. You can easily re-use the data you’ve already saved to your phone.
Check your Wi-Fi network
Any router worth its salt would automatically configure the device to connect to the strongest possible network at all times. It’s just a matter of making sure the phone gets that signal so that it can stream music, make calls, and browse the web without hindrance.

Update your phone
The easiest way to boost your phone’s performance is to update it to the latest version of Android, just like your computer software or smartphone apps. Open the Settings app, and then go to About Phone. Once you tap on it, you will see a window with “Build number.” Make sure to tap on it to check if your phone is compatible with the latest update.
Turn on dynamic RAM
All your apps use RAM to work efficiently. This helps to keep the computer running faster as the apps in your phone are loading faster than usual. However, the more RAM your phone has, the more smoothly it runs. But if you do not have enough RAM to keep your apps loading fast, it could be the reason for slow performance.

However, you can increase the RAM in your phone by enabling Dynamic RAM.
Reduce the power usage
It’s time to get rid of apps you don’t use. When our devices get new versions, they upgrade the internal memory to install their pre-installed apps. However, their storage capacities never get equalized to our mobile device’s internal memory, and this results in needing more and more space for things we actually use. While some of those apps are useful and have been installed with good intent, we can uninstall them to free up storage space.
Apps you can uninstall:
Apps that are “meh” or don’t have much of a purpose can be removed with the help of the apps-remover tool available from Google Play. Apps that are only used once or rarely can be removed easily by opening the app drawer and long pressing on an icon. Afterward, tap the “X” and remove it.
Turn off animations when scrolling
The reason why Android does not allow you to disable animations during scrolling is that it gives the illusion of “feel” of the UI. When you scroll your fingers along the screen, the display tries to keep up, thus causing unnecessary frictional heat on your phone. For this, you just need to click on your home button and then scroll up and down as usual.
Battery saver mode isn’t the reason why your phone gets hot?
In an ideal world, mobile operating systems shouldn’t need to consider battery life, the whole aim is to deliver a lag-free experience to the user. However, just like on most Android devices, the default mobile OS on your Android phone has enabled a “battery saver mode” to save on power and extend your phone’s lifespan.
Disable any unnecessary tasks
Your system will need more power to run as well as to run essential processes like background processes. For example, background app refresh will be enabled for Android 8.1. That means applications will automatically check for new email, browser tabs and the like to keep them from refreshing the screen.
Also, if you don’t want any notifications to refresh your screen, simply disable it. You don’t have to go that crazy though as an OK Google function can be enough. If you don’t want to, you can go to Settings and scroll down to enable that option.
Replace the annoying system apps
The Android OS comes with built-in system apps and launcher apps to make your smartphone as fast as possible. However, there are some specific apps that will speed up the OS.
Disable motion sensors in the battery settings
This will help in prolonging battery life, as motion sensors tend to drain battery power.
Hide 'Downloader' in the Wi-Fi settings
This app or software is not a virus but rather a link to apps that require a network connection. By hiding this app, you’ll be cutting out the need to turn Wi-Fi on.
Change your device’s display to dark mode
This helps in reducing battery drain and the blue light emitted by your screen can affect your health and well-being, making it harder to fall asleep and wake up at the right time.
Update your device with the latest Android OS
Mobile OS is developed periodically, so it’s important to update your device every two to three months to have the latest version.
Enable high performance mode when playing games
One of the most important things to do is to enable the Android performance mode. That’s a cool thing to do for when you want to play online games, but it can have quite an impact on the performance of your phone.
There are two ways to do it. The first one is to just install an app to manually activate this mode. Second, you can go into Settings > System > About Phone to check and see if your phone is in Android performance mode.
What we recommend, is to either skip the configuration of the option and just go into Settings > System > About Phone to see if it’s there, or go to Google Play, search for Ambient Display and go to the More settings > Alert slider and do it.
If you’re going to go for the first method, you can always uncheck it later if you find that it’s not needed.
Improve your Wi-Fi connection
Not only is it handy, but making sure that your phone has a strong and good Wi-Fi connection can also help your device perform much better in the middle of the game. The way you experience PUBG Mobile is directly related to the Wi-Fi connection. Play on a slow network connection and you’ll probably see your performance take a dip. However, on the other hand, playing on a fast network and hitting a wall can also be frustrating and difficult. It’s wise to make sure that your network connection is as fast as it can be for your phone to handle this game.

Keep your mobile data in check
Even a slight imbalance in data consumption between a phone's internal memory and its outlay data might result in the device having to check its data on a regular basis.
If you find your data consumption increasing while you're playing, as it did for me, it's time to start using your device more sparingly. Don't, for instance, spend more than an hour playing PUBG on your phone at a stretch, which could drain your data bill in a heartbeat.
You can also use a third-party app to restrict background app use, and make sure there's no ‘tailgating’ going on, which could cause your phone to lose its signal – so any data usage is handled just once a day.
